Delta Facades Awarded Reynaers Facade and Terracotta Cladding Package at The Buckley Building

We're pleased to announce that Delta Facades has been awarded two significant packages at The Buckley Building — a landmark commercial scheme in Farringdon, London. Our appointment covers the complete Reynaers aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling package, and the terracotta rainscreen cladding and coping package.

The Project

The Buckley Building at 49 Clerkenwell Green, Farringdon, is a comprehensive refurbishment and extension of a 1930s warehouse into a modern, sustainability-led workplace. The scheme retains the existing four-storey structure, adds a new mezzanine and a two-storey rooftop extension, and delivers around 89,000–115,000 sq ft of Class E workspace across an island site in the heart of EC1.

Designed for Net Zero Carbon in construction and operation, the project targets a demanding set of sustainability accreditations — BREEAM Outstanding, EPC A, WELL Platinum, NABERS 5-Star and RESET — with completion programmed for Q1 2027. The facade is a critical part of hitting those numbers: thermally efficient aluminium fenestration, a robust rainscreen build-up, and airtightness delivered by installers who understand the tested detail.

Delivering that architectural intent on site requires two specialist packages working as one — which is where Delta Facades comes in.

The Reynaers Facade Package

As a UK approved Reynaers installer, Delta Facades will deliver the full aluminium envelope for the scheme, including:

• Reynaers curtain walling to the principal elevations, tying into the retained masonry piers and expressed banding.
• Aluminium windows — thermally broken, acoustically rated, and detailed to preserve the crisp shadow lines the architect specified.
• Commercial entrance doors to the ground-floor reception, engineered for high-frequency use.
• Reynaers Hi-Finity sliding door — the flagship minimal-frame sliding system, offering exceptional sightlines, oversized glazed panels and premium thermal performance for the terrace access at roof level.

The Hi-Finity is a technically demanding product to install well. Its ultra-slim 35 mm interlock, concealed roller carriages and levelling tolerances leave no margin for a poorly set threshold or an out-of-plumb jamb. Our teams are Reynaers-trained specifically on Hi-Finity, and the installation will be benchmarked and signed off against the manufacturer's tested detail before the run is released.

The Terracotta Cladding and Copings Package

Alongside the aluminium package, Delta Facades will install the terracotta rainscreen cladding and metal copings to the upper storeys and parapets. Terracotta is the signature material on this scheme — warm-toned, extruded baguettes and panels set against the crisp white render and dark aluminium fenestration.

Our scope includes:

• Support system and helping-hand bracketry set out from a laser-scanned survey.
• A2-rated mineral wool insulation installed with the correct fixings and density for the tested build-up.
• Horizontal and vertical cavity barriers to the tested detail — photographed, logged and independently signed off.
• Terracotta rainscreen panels installed on a concealed carrier system, with joint alignment coordinated to the window heads, sills and expressed banding.
• Aluminium copings to parapets, dressed and jointed for a clean weathering line and long-term water shedding.

Why This Win Matters

Two things stand out about this appointment. First, the client and main contractor were willing to place both the aluminium and rainscreen packages with a single specialist installer. That only happens when the installer can demonstrate genuine competence across systems — curtain walling and rainscreen — with the site management, quality assurance and Golden Thread documentation to back it up.

Installing Safely, Installing Right

As with every Delta Facades project, this scheme will be delivered by:

• CSCS-carded, GQA-qualified installers, manufacturer-trained on the specific Reynaers systems being installed.
• SMSTS-certified site management, with full lift supervisor and slinger cover for every hoist operation in a tight London street.
• Independent third-party inspection at critical hold points — bracket fixings, cavity barriers, first panels and Hi-Finity sign-off.
• Photographic Golden Thread records captured live on site, not retrofitted at handover.
