A landmark heritage renovation of the former Edwardian Lots Road Power Station in Chelsea, featuring bespoke curtain wall systems set within the iconic brick arches and Domus Stone cladding to the central atrium.

Lots Road Power Station is one of Chelsea's most recognisable heritage buildings — a former Edwardian coal-fired power station on the Thames now reborn as a mixed-use development. Delta Facades installed the bespoke curtain wall systems set within the building's iconic brick arches, plus stick curtain walling and Domus Stone cladding to the expansive central atrium. Every detail had to reconcile the retained heritage brickwork with modern glazing performance, weather-tightness and Building Regulations compliance — no arch is quite the same as any other, and every mullion had to be individually surveyed and pattern-cut on site.

[ METHODOLOGY ]

Every arch was 3D-scanned before curtain wall fabrication so mullions could be pre-shaped to the actual opening rather than the drawing. The Domus Stone cladding to the atrium was installed on a bespoke ventilated carrier designed to bridge the substantial tolerances of the retained structure. Heritage sign-off was staged as each arch closed in.
