Unitised Curtain Walling.

Curtain walling delivered as factory-assembled, pre-glazed storey-height panels.

Unitised curtain walling is a curtain wall system in which complete storey-height panels — including mullions, transoms, glazing, gaskets and spandrels — are assembled and pre-glazed in a factory, then transported to site and craned into position. Each unit interlocks with the one below via a male/female stack joint sealed with EPDM gaskets.

Compared to stick curtain walling, unitised installs roughly 3–5× faster on site (80–150 m² per team per day), achieves significantly higher factory quality control, and makes each floor weathertight as soon as the last unit on that floor is set. The material cost premium is typically 25–40% over stick, but total cost of ownership is often equivalent or lower on schemes above 5 storeys.

Unitised is the default choice for high-rise commercial and residential, tight-programme schemes, and constrained sites with no room for external scaffold.
