Stick curtain walling is a curtain wall system built up on site: mullions are fixed first, transoms span between them, and insulated glass units and spandrel panels are loaded into the grid and pressure-plated by installers working from internal access or external mast climbers.
Stick offers the lowest material cost of the three curtain wall configurations, absorbs site tolerances well, and suits bespoke geometry. Installation is slower than unitised (typically 25–45 m² per team per day) and quality control is harder to maintain because glazing happens in site conditions rather than a factory.
Stick is the default choice for low-rise commercial, refurbishment, heritage and one-off feature elevations.
- Unitised Curtain Walling— Curtain walling delivered as factory-assembled, pre-glazed storey-height panels.
- Curtain Walling— A non-loadbearing facade system that hangs off the primary structure to enclose a building.
- Mullion— The vertical structural member in a curtain wall grid that spans between floors.
